With reference to your Circular Despatch of the 6th December, 1898, relative to the possible connection of malaria with mosquitoes, I have the honour to transmit a report on the subject by Mr. Charles Ford, the Superintendent of the Botanical and Afforestation Department, and to express my appreciation of the diligence shown by him in collecting specimens, and by the second clerk in helping to arrange them.
